After taking over the Avonlea School from Mr. Phillips, Ms. Stacey’s impact on a young Anne Shirley’s life is immediate. Acting as a mentor, her unique teaching style finds favor with her young students. Her attention to each of their abilities are evident by the amount of time she spends with them helping them to accomplish their best. She especially bonds with Anne while helping her prep for her entrance exam to Queens University.

Lightstone is a well-known name to anyone who was a devotee of Sullivan Entertainment’s Anne of Green Gables mini-series. The effervescent Miss Stacey, having satisfied her wanderlust, returns to Avonlea and purchases the General Store.

An award-winning actress who has garnered critical acclaim on both sides of the border, Marilyn Lightstone’s other television credits include guest starring roles in E.N.G, Street Legal, Night Heat, Cheers and Cagney & Lacey. Her film credits include The Grand Tour, The Wild Pony, In Praise Of Older Women (for which she won Best Supporting Actress Canadian Film Award) and Lies My Father Told Me.

In addition to her acting, Ms Lightstone has written dramatic episodes for The Littlest Hobo, and The Colors Of Love; written and produced her own musical Miss Lightstone Sings and a music video. She has also provided voices for a number of animated series including Dennis The Menace, Heathcliff and Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure’s.
