Composer, conductor, pianist and arranger, Peter Breiner, was born in the city of Humenné, in former on July 3, 1957. He began his formal at the age of nine when he received early acceptance at the Conservatory in Kosice in 1971 and studied piano, composition, conducting and percussion. In 1975, he attended the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava where he continued his studies in composition and graduated with a Master’s Degree in 1982.
Breiner went on to begin composing scores for international film and television projects as well as conduct and perform in several major orchestras making him one of the world’ most recorded musicians and Czechoslovakia’s most famous composer/conductor. Breiner’s music has reached global masses as his arrangements of national anthems of all participating countries were used during the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 and in Beijing in 2008.
Breiner has collaborated with Director, Kevin Sullivan, on several of his projects. They include Love on the Land (1999), PROMISE THE MOON (1997), ANNE OF GREEN GABLES – THE CONTINUING STORY (2000), WIND AT MY BACK (1997-2001), ANNE: THE ANIMATED SERIES (2000), THE PIANOMAN’S DAUGHTER (2003), Anne Journey to Green Gables (2004) and THE MAGIC FLUTE DIARIES (2007). He has also written scores and conducted for other internationally successful projects such as Deepa Mehta’s WATER (2005) and the television series WATERSHIP DOWN (1999).
Peter Breiner’s music can also be heard in episodes of numerous popular television programs such as CSI, Bold and the Beautiful, The Early Show, 60 Minutes and the Young and the Restless.
