Anne’s dreams come true during her first carriage ride with Matthew to Green Gables.  The beauty of the environment around her leaves her in awe.

But it doesn’t leave her speechless.  “Pretty doesn’t seem the right word to use,” Anne tells Matthew, as they drive through an avenue of blossoms.  “Nor beautiful either.  They don’t go far enough.”  Here is a look at one of the most memorable scenes from Anne of Green Gables – a scene that celebrates the natural beauty of the island and how much scope for the imagination it gives to Anne.
