Imaginative and romantic Anne

Any female fan of Anne of Green Gables has, at some point, wished for her very own Gilbert Blythe: a strong, loyal young man who will stay with her through thick and thin. Strangely enough, Gilbert’s love affair with Anne started when he called her “Carrots” and got a slate smashed over his head in return. From that moment on, Gilbert was smitten with the feisty, red – haired orphan but his affections were not easily… or quickly… returned.

For many years Gilbert pined for Anne but his romantic advances were thwarted at every turn… she even turned down his first marriage proposal. Imaginative and romantic Anne dreamed of someday meeting her ideal man and Gilbert was simply not that man... at least so she thought. But age and experience often reveal that the stuff dreams are made of may never have been too far out of reach.

“I went looking for my ideals outside of myself. I discovered that it’s not what the world holds for you, it’s what you bring to it. The dreams dearest to my heart are right here.” - Anne Shirley

It took some doing, but Anne finally realized that Gilbert was her one true love and they were married in a small, but elegant ceremony on her beloved Prince Edward Island. Anne’s fantasy of being whisked away by Prince Charming had given way to her deep, enduring love for Gilbert.

“I don’t want sunbursts or marble halls... I just want you.” - Anne Shirley

Anne’s wedding dress was like Anne herself - simple, yet intricate, lavish, but classic. Now you can host your own Anne-themed wedding complete with a dress made from the authentic pattern for Anne’s wedding gown. And when your fabulous wedding day is over, be sure to put your treasures in a keepsake box and your photographs in one of our beautiful photo albums so you can cherish your memories for years to come.
