On the day of her audition for Anne of Green Gables, Megan Follows had sticky notes posted all over her room, marked with declarations such as “I am Anne of Green Gables” and “I am 12 years old”.

Megan read each one before she left to remind herself that she could prove to others what she herself believed: that the role could and should be hers, even if she was one of thousands of young girls to audition.

Here is an interview that Megan Follows did for Lifetime in 1986, before the release of Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel.  In this video, she tells the above story, and explains what it was like going to high school during the filming of Anne, as well as the impact of her ensuing fame.  Megan also reveals the cast members she has come to consider her own kindred spirits.

Take a look!
