Dave Foley (then using his full name - "David Foley") appeared as Anne's former schoolmate and dance partner, Lewis Allen. Prior to Anne, Foley had had a few minor roles, but it was not until 1988 that his career began to take off with comedy sketch show Kids in the Hall. Foley wrote and starred on the show, alongside fellow comedians Kevin McDonald, Bruce McCulloch, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson.
When Kids in the Hall ended in 1995, Foley landed another TV gig - this time on American sitcom NewsRadio. Foley gained popularity in the role of Dave Nelson, the news director at a New York radio station.
In the years since NewsRadio ended, Foley has taken on roles in a number of films (Dick, On the Line, Employee of the Month), as well as guest spots on a variety of television shows (Will & Grace, Scrubs, Robson Arms).
Foley returned to Canadian television this season with new program How to Be a Gentleman. Foley stars alongside Kevin Dillon, Mary Lynn Rajskub and David Hornsby. He also has roles in upcoming films Last Call and 6 Month Rule.
