It’s taken over 100 years to become official, but now Lucy Maud Montgomery can truly be called a songwriter, in addition to author and poet. The lyrics she penned in 1908 for a piece called “The Island Hymn”, which was put to music by Lawrence W. Watson, has just officially become Prince Edward's Island's provincial anthem.
