In Volume One’s episode, “The Stray”, a stray dog arrives on the porch of Green Gables. Anne is immediately taken with the dog and wants to keep it for herself. But when she thinks of the poor family that must be looking for him, she decides to accept the help of Peg Bowen (the witch of Avonlea!) in returning the dog to its rightful owners.
In “Taffy”, viewers can appreciate the inclusion of beloved characters from other Sullivan shows, like Road to Avonlea. In this episode, Anne makes Taffy for Avonlea’s Annual Taffy Day. But when it turns out to be too salty, she is convinced that Felicity King had something to do with it. The two girls must work out this misunderstanding together and recognize that they are both not perfect.
Later, in “The Sleeves”, Miss Amelia Evans returns to Avonlea. Already known to viewers of Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel for her literary performance at the White Sands Hotel, they will appreciate her reappearance in this show. Amelia is now an international star and the whole town is excited when she returns home, especially Anne, who becomes intent on looking just as sophisticated as Amelia!
