Ever wish you had the chance to try out for American or Canadian idol? Now, Sullivan Entertainment is giving you a chance to share your singing talent! “Sullivan Sing-Along” officially invites fans of all ages to participate in our special singing competition, in honour of Mother’s Day.

We’re asking you to make a video of yourself singing a song that reminds you of summer – just make sure you dedicate it to your mom! The public can then vote for their favourites and the winners will win an amazing musical prize pack!

Here is a video explaining the rules. Underneath it is more details about the rules as well as our fantastic prize list!

Here are the rules:

1.    Your song can either be your own composition or a song by another artist. However, if you are singing along to a song in the background, we must be able to hear your own singing voice.
2.    You can post your video on YouTube, on the walls of any one of our four official Facebook Pages (Anne of Green Gables, Road to Avonlea, Wind at My Back and Sullivan Entertainment), or email it to us at contest@sullivan-ent.com. Anyone who posts a video on YouTube must send the link to contest@sullivan-ent.com!
3.    Along with your video, you must post your name and age.
4.    A panel of judges from Sullivan Entertainment will pick the Top Ten videos. Our judging will be based on song choice, vocal quality and overall creativity of the video.
5.    On Monday, May 2, we will showcase the Top Ten videos and the public can then vote for their two favourites (one for ages 18 and under and one for ages 18 and over).
6.    The contest ends the day after Mother’s Day – Monday, May 9, 2011 – at 9 a.m. EST. And the two winners will be notified that day!

Hi Anne! The rules are that we have to hear your own voice. But, you can also sing along to an artist's voice in the background. No, the words do not have to be displayed in the video. And in terms of your idea of using your professor's recording, we would need you to make your own so that we can hear your voice. We are looking forward to seeing your submission! Thanks!

To whom this may concern, I have a couple questions about the sullivan sing along contest. Does it have to be our voice that is heard, or can we create our own video using another artist's voice? Also, do the words have to be displayed in the video? For instance I have a good recording of my professor singing a song for class that we in turn had to learn. I made a video of my recording of her singing the song. Could I use that or do I need to sing along with or, or make my own recording?
