According to CTV News, thousands of Canadians have already gathered at the National War Memorial in Ottawa as they await the arrival of Prince William and Kate Middleton.  The Royal couple are arriving in Canada’s capital city today, just in time for its Canada Day festivities tomorrow.

One of the excited spectators at the memorial site is a little girl who has a gift ready for the Duchess of Cambridge.

As CTV reported, “Nine-year-old Tia McGillivary, from Hawkesbury, had her own reason to visit the National War Memorial this morning. She was clutching a picture she drew for Kate of Anne of Green Gables. McGillivary says she drew the picture because she knows it's one of Kate's favourite novels.”

Not all of the fans there today are residents of Ottawa.  Some have journeyed from all over Canada – and even Texas, as the article says – to  see the Duke and Duchess.

The couple is expected to arrive at the Memorial at 2:35 p.m. EST, at which time they will lay a wreath and walk around the area.
