The outcome, which ultimately crowned Degrassi as the top show, was announced during the broadcast of Saturday’s Gemini Awards, hosted by Glee star Cory Monteith.
In the leadup to the Gemini’s, viewers could cast their vote via twitter, Facebook or the website www.favetvshow.ca and pick from a list of 25 Canadian productions that a group of critics compiled. The list offered a wide range of programs, from comedies such as Trailer Park Boys, to the children’s special Mr. Dressup, to the dramatic series Slings & Arrows.
