For most Anne of Green Gables fans, Megan Follows is synonymous with Anne Shirley.  The identity of both actress and character is so closely intertwined, but there are other notable roles, even within the Sullivan film library, that Megan took on.

One of these roles is her performance as a girl suffering from autism in the film Under the Piano, which co-stars Amanda Plummer (top left) as her sister and Teresa Stratas as her mother.

The film, which was directed by Stefan Scaini (Wind at My Back, Anne: The Continuing Story, Road to Avonlea) won three Gemini Awards, including Best Costume, Best Lead Actress for Teresa Stratas and Best Sound.  It was also up for Best Direction and Best TV Movie, which would have gone to Kevin Sullivan and Trudy Grant, as they were the film’s executive producers.

Here is the trailer of this dramatic feature film, which also co-stars Wind at My Back’s James Carroll (Max Sutton) and Dan Lett (Bob Bailey).
