For about a month now Anne of Green Gables the Animated series has been airing on PBS across the U.S. The animated series consists of 26 episodes that are geared towards children between the ages of 4-9. These episodes deal with a specific educational theme that children can relate to.

It helps children deal with life lessons, solve problems, grow a can-do attitude and develop a healthy social ability. It is a great charming, intelligent, feel good T.V show that brings understanding to children’s eyes about the importance of family and friends. This series contains adventures, of topics such as one True Friend, Babysitter Blues, Sleeves, Butterflies, Avonlea Herald, and Oh Brother.

For example the Anne’s Babysitter Blues is about how to make the most intelligent choice between two problems. Such as in this episode, Anne is a very experienced babysitter and has agreed to help Gilbert babysit his neighbor’s nephew. Though the problem is that Anne gets invited to a wonderful party in the town of the same night she is suppose to help Gilbert babysit. So how does she do both on the same day and not disappoint anyone?

A character like Anne with much active imagination is a great example for young children. Since Anne has abilities to imagine, dream and fantasize like most children, it is easier for a young audience to relate to. Her talents help her recognize multiple solutions to a problem, understand other’s perspectives, and learn more about herself, which creates great scenarios for all children.
