  Hi cc, sorry for the late response. The characters in the show were fictional and created by Kevin Sullivan. So the clips you see in the opening credits are not based on anyone in particular. Thanks for your interest!

  bloopers were great! Would love to see a "Return to New Bedford" mini series done. also would like to know if the home movie clips shown in the opening credits are the real people the characters were based on!
