Starting September 15, fans can go to www.favetvshow.ca and make their selection from a list that was put together by a group of experienced television critics. The selections cover all major genres, from quirky comedies to dramas to reality series. And the winning program will be revealed after special guests count down the shows throughout the gala broadcast of the ceremony on November 13.
But, in the meantime, Toronto Life Magazine created its own list of “The 10 best Canadian TV shows of the past 25 years”. And Road to Avonlea is on it.

They also listed 25 “Runners-up”, which includes some of the most classic children’s programming and serious dramas. They are: Mr. Dressup, The Tudors, Edison Twins, Trailer Park Boys, North of 60, Da Vinci’s Inquest, The Newsroom, Fraggle Rock, Dear Aunt Agnes, The Littlest Hobo, Polka Dot Door, The Green Forrest, Passe Partout, Hammy the Hamster, You Can’t Do That on Television, Danger Bay, Traders, ENG, Wok With Yan!, Babar, Just Like Mom, Flashpoint, Friendly Giant, My Secret Identity, Catwalk
