This is the fourth repost of the keeperships topics. I originally posted this topic a long, long, long, long time ago on April 7, 2000 shortly after the first version of the forum opened. Its made a reappearance in 2001.
The newest version of the list began on August 16, 2005, and along with the list, I created keepership tags. I appreciate the help of others who have made their own images, helped with screencaps and making tags (check the page for the credits!).
If you haven't run across keeperships before, let me explain how this works: Your keeperships are special treasures that you protect and care for. You are titled "Keeper" of these items.
THE RULES:
1) You may choose ONE item. Choose carefully! 2) The item must be from the Anne series novels or miniseries, or any other L.M. Montgomery novels and adaptations. Explain where your items come from and why you are choosing it. 3) It must be a physical, tangible item, not an abstract noun. You are not allowed to choose body parts, people, or items larger than a house. (that means, no hugs and no kisses. Please! I'm trying to stick to the rules.) 4) Read the entire Keeperships List (With Images/Text-only Keeperships List before you choose what you want to be keeper of so that we each have unique keeperships. 5) I will make the image. You do not have to do anything but choose your keepership, unless you wish to make your own and send it to me. 6) If you want to use the images on your website or elsewhere, feel free to. Just be sure to upload them to your own site first, or the links will steal and suck away all my bandwidth. 7) new rule You must have 50 posts at the Avonlea Message Board before you make a keepership request. I have made this new rule to make sure these efforts are made for members of this forum.
Tutorial on how to upload an image and place it in your signature: 1) Register for an account at Photobucket and log-in to your account: http://photobucket.com/ (You can use this site to post any other pictures on the forum in the future, if you don't have a website.) 2) In another window, go to the Keeperships page, and right-click (or CTRL+click on a mac) on your keepership tag. Choose "copy the image location." 3) In Photobucket, choose to upload an image from a web URL, paste the keepership URL in the box, and click "upload." 4) The picture is now uploaded to your photobucket account and you'll see the picture on the site. Right-click to copy the URL for the image. 5) In the forum, click on "Profile," go to "Forum Profile Information." Then in the "signature" box, paste the Photobucket URL in the box surrounded by IMG tags.
6) Click "Change profile," and the keepership will appear in your signature.
Alternatively, if you don't want to register at photobucket: You can also upload photos at http://tinypic.com/ where there's no registration required.

I, Valancy, am the Keeper of:
The Pink Enamel Heart Gilbert gave this trinket to Anne while they were at Redmond as a Christmas gift in Anne of the Island. She does not wear it until her graduation day when she connects her long-cherished ambitions with Gilbert rather than Roy. She rips it off after hearing rumors of Gilbert being engaged to Christine. She wears it again in Anne of Ingleside when she believes Gilbert has forgotten their 15th wedding anniversary and is more interested in Christine Stuart than her.

That one's my keepership. Have fun choosing yours!

i chose anne's brides maid dress because in the first book she was traumatised by diana getting married in the future and leaving her, but she still imagined that she was diana's brides maid, and wore a dress with puffed sleeves. in the movie she still believes she will be losing her best friend but wants her to be happy and is the bridesmaid as imagined. the dress also signals a change of direction in her life when she decides to go to kingsport ladies college to teach. it is also the dress she loaned to pauline harris and would later give to her possibly so she can live her dreams too and hope for a future with love in it.
Thank you so much, Val, you've done a brilliant piece of work. I simply love it
Here's why I chose it:
I've always loved old-fashioned clothes, and the first time I saw the Anne-movies I instantly thought that I would love to have such beautiful pinafores, especially this one, I love it's laces on the sleeves (or what you call it ). From back then I have wished that people would wear them today as back then.
To get this keepership means a lot to me, because now I feel like I have gotten that pinafore I always wanted. I feel part of the forum family. (Even more than I did before I had this wonderful keepership)

Hi, Valancy!
may I please be Keeper of Grandmother King's blue cup from A Story Girl? I just love this tiny detail ever since I first read about it in the book, it links the past and present so beautifully. I think all the book is generally about how present, past and future are connected and the cup looks like this idea expressed in a material object. Besides, none seems to have any keepership from A Story Girl the book, so eventually one has to start!
Actually when I stumbled upon the keeperships topic for the first time ever I thought at once that I'd like to be keeper of that!
If you could use my drawing that would be absolutely perfect!

Hi Valancy! I have reached 50 posts, so would I be able to get a keepership? I would like to be the keeper of Captain Jim's Driftwood Fires.
"Finally they found themselves in the dining room, whee a fire of driftwood was weaving flames of wavering, elusive, sea-born hues in the open fireplace."

I've got over 50 posts. Can be keeper of something, please?
I'd like to be keeper of Rachel Lynde's gossip. She was a very curious woman who always knew everything about everyone in Avonlea. She's one of my favorite characters.

I know I don't have 50 posts yet but I thought I'd put my request in now, I've seen a few people on here that have keepership and only have 10 posts. So when I reach 50 posts could I be a keeper.
I was wondering if I could be keeper of the hill overlooking Green Gables. Anne took so many special heartfelt walks over those hills with all the people that were dearest to her heart.

Valancy, Keepership is such a great idea! Congratulations for such a wonderful Keeperhips you've done so far! Keep up the good work!
I'm a big fan of "Strictly Melodrama" episode. I would like very much to be a Keeper of Hetty's clothing item, that she's wearing in a scene with Olivia. I don't know English title for that clothing item, so here's a picture. Sorry it's so big, only one I was able to find:
I'm reffering to that black, with red flower, Hetty is wearing.
Hetty and Eleanor McHugh make a bargain. Eleanor must give her recipe for famous strudel to Hetty, if Hetty & Avonlea Drama Society win on Drama Contest. Oherwise, Hetty must gives her recipe for King cranberry pie, in case Eleanor wins.
After Muriel has to suddenly quit her participation due to her brother's illnes, Hetty makes audition. Janet's been chossen to replace Muriel. However, famous actress Isabelle Carrington arrives to Avonlea. Hetty, determined to win, decides Isabelle should replace Janet.
Preparations for play are going on. Isabelle is really horrible and makes various of demands, from how stage should look like to her dresses, even changing scenes and lines.
Hetty have had it, and quarrels with Isabelle. Isabelle quits and leaves. Hetty realizes she doesn't have main actress, and decides it's time she copy that recipe for Eleanor.
She's at Rose Cottage, copying the recipe, when Olivia arrives.
Olivia: "Hetty, what're you up to?"
Hetty: "I'm copying out the King cranberry pie for Eleanor McHugh."
Olivia: "You left out the cherry juice."
Hetty: "Just as good without it."
Olivia: "No,no,no it's the cherry juice that makes it"
Hetty: "I'll substitute lemon juice."
Olivia: "Hetty King!"
Hetty: "Why should we suffer on the account of that unspeakable Isabelle Carrington!"
Olivia: "We haven't lost yet."
Hetty: "We don't have an actress, we don't have a play, we don't have a play we can't possible win."
Olivia: "We still have Janet."
Hetty: "I don't think Janet would even consider playing the part, not after I bruted her out in such unseemly fashion. Would she?"
Of course, Janet forgives and forgets, and Avonlea Drama Society wins. Hetty calls Janet "the best actress of PEI".
Thanks a lot in advance for Keepership! Have a nice day!
Miss Hetty King

Hi Valancy,
Thanks a lot for taking your time to make this such a beautiful Keepership for me! I'm really impressed with it, it's so wonderful!
May I please have your permission to use it on other Avonlea forums as well? Thanks!
Keepership you have made so far are so wonderful, keep up the good work!
I thought it's actually a sweater Hetty is wearing. But, I didn't want to take any chances, so I posted the picture, to make sure as what it is. At first I didn't resize picture, so you could have a better look of it. Now I'll resize it. Glad it was helpful to use it as an image.
Thanks for your explanation! I know what shawl is, here we wear it during the winter But, thanks for your explanation, anyway!
I've seen many TV shows and characters, but Hetty is definitely my favourite TV character ever. She makes me laugh and cry. I know she's fictious character, but she's such a wonderful person, kind of person you want to have as a friend. She's always ready to help, no matter what. She helped Gus getting educated. She didn't have seconds thoughts about going with Felicity to find Gus. Her quotes are so great and full of meaning, such as in my signature and "You shouldn't make promises you expect others to keep for you." I could go on and on why she's my favourite character. When I saw that shawl in "Strictly Melodrama", I just knew I have to have it as my Keepership

Great keeperships!! I like Hetty's shawl.
Thank you!
As I've already said, when I saw Hetty's shawl in "Strictly Melodrama", I just knew I have to have it as my Keepership Windy poplars, your Keepership is also great!
Miss Hetty King, I checked the episode to see what Hetty was wearing. She wraps it around herself to it was clear it was a shawl in a different scene. I think Hetty is my favorite character in Road to Avonlea. Feel free to use the keepership where you would like.
Aunt Hetty's Ordeal,
You can only have one item as your keepership. I want to make sure new members will also have many items to choose from.

I didn't do anything to make it bigger. I uploaded it from the Photobucket website instead of through the uploader from the get-go.
Here's what you do: Delete the current image from your Photobucket account. Then--if you have the fullsize image on your hard drive somewhere--reupload it to Photobucket on their website. Get new image code and add it to your signature, replacing the old one.
i saw that some members have keeperships and was wondering how you get something like that.

Hello there. I have nowhere near 50 posts on here, but I'd like to go ahead and tell you what I would like for my keepership. I'd like to be Keeper of Felix and Izzy's Canoe. Let me know if you can do this. Thanks.

carmen, AvonleaGirl posted some ideas. Can you think of anything else you like in regards to Anne or RTA? Or something connected to a certain character you like?
i would like to be the keeper of anne's nun habit. i would like this one cause i like that Anne loved Dominic enough to risk her life to take him to safety. and her nun habit helps her since it's a disguise.
