Although I enjoyed Barbara Hershey's performance it just wasn't the same without Megan Follows as Anne. However I still enjoyed Anne4 very much.
A: From my conversations with Kevin, it does seem her age was a major factor to why she wasn't cast as Anne in Anne of Green Gables ~ A New Beginning. Naturally there were other factors involved as well.
Megan was an amazing Anne, but Barbara Hershey also portrayed her in a very engaging way.

A: Colleen Dewhurst was indeed a wonderful actress; her roles in Sullivan productions (Anne, Anne 2, Road to Avonlea & Lantern Hill) were perfect and powerful. She continued her role as Marilla Cuthbert from the Anne movies on Road to Avonlea. In 1991 she died due to cervical cancer – she is dearly missed.
Kevin Sullivan and the creative team of Road to Avonlea were faced with the challenge of writing Marilla out of the show and creating a tribute to her beloved character after her death. The episode “Old Friends, Old Wounds” is about Marilla’s death. Piecing together Colleen’s performance from deleted scenes and outtakes, the episode was able to show Marilla even after Colleen had passed away.
Colleen Dewhurst also appears in Anne of Green Gables ~A New Beginning in a flashback sequence talking to Nellie. This scene was created by taking a shot from Road to Avonlea and inserting Nellie into it via Green Screen.

A: Don’t worry; the man who interviewed you was indeed an employee of Sullivan Entertainment. Nothing has been done with this footage as of yet, since many other things have surfaced. But in the future we look forward to making a fan tribute to Anne of Green Gables.

A: The Anne of Green Gables Boxed Set (The Blue Box) is not closed captioned. However, the Anniversary Edition 5-disc set is closed captioned.

A: Not all "Avonlea" Productions are directly about the life of Anne. Avonlea is the name of the town where she lives. There is a television series called Road to Avonlea which is about the town but not Anne (although Gilbert does make an appearance).

A: The events you describe happen at the end of Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story, the third Anne movie. There is now a Fourth film, titled Anne of Green Gables~A New Beginning. In this story, we see that child from the train station grow into a young man.

A: You may be surprised, but Vivien is really 18 years old. It is not uncommon for actors to play roles of younger characters. Megan Follows was 16 years old when she played a young Anne in the first film.

A: A lot of people have been asking when they’ll get a chance to see the new Anne film. Unfortunately we don’t have any concrete information yet.
We will be releasing Anne of Green Gables: A New Beginning on DVD soon after it airs on CTV in Canada. We do not yet have an air date, but it should be before the end of this year.

A: Sullivan Entertainment has released 3 Anne of Green Gables movies, with another on the way. There are; Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel, Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story and now Anne of Green Gables: A New Beginning.
Historically, in 1919 and 1934 Anne of Green Gables also was portrayed in theatres in a self-titled presentation.

A: Sullivan Entertainment enjoys doing chats with the many actors that they have worked with through the years. However, at this point there are no dates when any such chats will occur – but we’ll keep you posted as we move forward.

A: We’re glad you enjoyed the trilogy! Anne of Green Gables: A New Beginning has a few actors returning to reprise their roles, but the main characters have been recast. This film takes place before and long after the original trilogy, which results in the original cast being the wrong age.
Screen legend Shirley MacLaine teams up with Barbara Hershey and Rachel Blanchard in the new film. These stars are supplemented by the young Hannah Endicott-Douglas who plays Anne Shirley before she arrives at Green Gables.

A: Megan Follows is pronounced Meee-gan, and she is Canadian through and through. Sullivan Entertainment thought it was important to have a Canadian play the iconic role of a young Anne Shirley. Anne of Green Gables was shot both in PEI and around the Toronto area.

A: Although Anne of Green Gables: A New Beginning is often referred to as a prequel, it in fact is both a sequel and a prequel that bookends the original Anne trilogy. The film features an older Anne Shirley reminiscing about her life before she arrived at Green Gables.

A: The Beyond Green Gables online magazine was full of features, movie reviews, information about actors, games and much more. However, in late 2007 the magazine went on hiatus as Sullivan Entertainment focused on other projects.
Sullivan Entertainment still firmly believes in projects that promote an Anne lifestyle, and will continue to release similar content. Whether that is in the form of a revised online magazine or not remains to be seen.
